Myofunctional Therapy
Myofunctional therapy is considered a 'soft tissue specialty' - enabling diagnosis of soft tissue trauma and assessment of the overall function of the musculoskeletal system. It works in the form of remedial massage to improve the function and performance of soft tissue.
I commonly use myofunctional therapy to assist with pain management caused by arthritis, especially in dogs, and to manage old muscle injuries or assist with the healing process for more recent soft tissue problems. It's also ideal for maintaining your animal's pleasure activities, or ensuring optimum muscle health ahead of competition days.
A proactive maintenance program can make a real difference to your animal's long-term health and comfort. I work with dog and horse owners across the Macedon Ranges and Central Victoria to develop programs that support their animals year-round - not just when problems arise.

Benefits of Myofunctional Therapy:
• Improves range of movement and body balance
• Strengthens muscles and tendons
• Increases flexibility
• Improves blood circulation
• Lengthens connective tissue
• Stimulates lymphatic drainage
• Improves nutrient supply
• Reduces muscle tension and fatigue
What to expect after a session:
Your animal may experience both physical and emotional releases during a myofunctional therapy session. They can sometimes be extra sleepy and may drink more water as their body works to remove toxins. I recommend a few quiet days following treatment to allow your animal's systems to fully respond.

"Minda has treated my horse, Peri, since 2019 both as part of routine “maintenance” and as part of his rehabilitation following injury. The was Peri responds and relaxes during treatment speaks for itself. I value Minda’s holistic approach as well as the way she works with me on how I can best support Peri’s health between treatments.
